Yoga courses online – a less obvious route

Offering yoga classes online and partnership marketing isn’t perhaps the first thing you think of as yoga teachers. (I know it’s taken us time to work it out). One of the benefits of recording our yoga classes is that we can now make them available to people as and when they have time to watch the yoga videos – wherever they are in the world.

Working in partnership with similar organisations, that have the same values and interests has proven, for YogaTonic UK, to offer an invaluable way to share our specialist yoga courses – such our our Runners and SkiFit programmes.

Sometimes advertising isn’t possible – for a small business, advertising isn’t quite within our budget, but we can certainly spend time nurturing new and existing relationships.

Hopefully you may find this blog useful when considering new ways of generating more visiblity for your online yoga classes

As a word of warning and to manage expectations, this isn’t a quick fix or tap that is turned on immediately. There are somethings that are just out of your control…

Back in 2019 we launched our yoga for skiers programme to help people get ready for their time in the mountains. Working with both Crystal Ski Holidays and the SkiClub of Great Britain were perfect fits for us. As we all know, the ski seasons have been pretty much cancelled from February 2020 to April 2021.  It’s been frustrating for us, though our thoughts go out to everyone involved with the skiing, and wider hospitality industries, durring this time.

10 Top Tips for making partnership marketing work

  1. Understand who your target market is (consumer) and what the cross over is with your partner
  2. Give yourself time – it does perhaps take more time to find the right organisation and also the relevant person to set up the activity, however, it is time well spent.
  3. Partnership means partnership – there are mutual benefits for both parties; a customer discount or sales based commission to create a new revenue stream.
  4. Think long term – think about establishing long term relationships with your partner
  5. Work together – afterall it’s a partnership
  6. Understand that your partner also has to focus on their core business – such as delivering ski holidays or organising running events
  7. Keep communicating – working with the partner is a continual process; explore new ideas and opportunities with them
  8. Try something new – you may offer something new to help address a need you hadn’t thought of before
  9. Deliver on your commitments – do what you say you are going to do
  10. Treat the partner as a distribution channel – look after them!

With this in mind we are pleased to launch our new partnership with Norwich Road Runners. We hope our package helps keep runners fit and healthy and get them to the start line of their event.
